Did you know there are over 20,000,000 people with diabetes in this country? Yes, you read that number correctly: 20 million! Individuals with diabetes face a variety of challenges when it comes to their health, one of which is wound care. A simple sunset walk on one of our gorgeous beaches is often not an option for a diabetic because stepping on a shell and cutting their foot could cause serious problems.
The West Coast Podiatry Center specializes in state-of-the-art wound care for diabetics. We are the only podiatric group in the area that has privileges at all of the local hospital wound care centers.
Part of our philosophy includes incorporating a multi-disciplinary approach to wound healing. Many local vascular surgeons and infectious disease doctors rely on our expertise in critical limb salvage cases.
