Steeler Update: Ben Roethlisberger Mid-Foot Sprain

We, the Steeler Nation, are breathing a sigh of relief after learning our beloved No. 7 isn’t seriously injured (think Lisfranc injury) after being wheeled off the field Sunday in the game against Oakland.

He does, however, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, appear to have suffered a mid-foot sprain and is expected to be sidelined a few weeks. He isn’t expected to play when the Steelers host Cleveland this Sunday. I’m sure backup Landry Jones will do a great job.

My Steelers have had a rough time with injuries from the start this season and seeing Roethlisberger go down again was a bit heart-stopping.

It was a flashback to week 3 when Roethlisberger ended up with a sprained MCL ligament in the game against the St. Louis Rams and missed 4 weeks due to the injury. Thank goodness Roethlisberger’s guardian angel is working overtime this year sparing him from major injury.

Now, if his angel could only help him play more than 2 consecutive games

Keep those fingers crossed, Steelers Nation, we NEED it!
