Are your feet tired and sore at the end of the day? Maybe you need to get them into better shape with some exercise. Your feet need exercise, too!
Strong and supple feet will get less fatigued throughout the day. And don’t forget to check your shoes too; ill-fitting shoes can can cause extremely sore feet!
Here are some exercises to improve your foot fitness!
- Toe grip: Drop a sock or small wash cloth on the floor and use your toes to grip and lift it off the floor. Hold for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat five times each foot. This is a great exercise to strengthen the foot muscles that improve balance!
- Toe extension: Wrap an elastic band around all five toes. Expand your toes and hold for five seconds; release. Repeat five times on each foot.
- Calf raise: Stand near a counter and hold on lightly to ensure your balance. Balance on one foot and rise up onto your toes. Hold for about 10 seconds, then lower. Repeat 10 times on each foot.
- Calf stretch : Sit with one leg stretched out in front of you and wrap a towel or a stretchy belt around the ball of the foot. Pull the towel back gently until you feel a stretch in the arch of the foot and the calf. Hold for 10 seconds; release. Repeat five times on each leg. These keep your achilles tendons and plantar fasciae from getting too tight!
Incorporate these simple exercises into your everyday life and improve your foot health. Remember, take care of your feet and they will take care of you!
