2012 Summer Olympics The 2012 Summer Olympics is soon to open in the great, but gray city of London. Olympians will impress us with their seemingly supernatural abilities to run, jump, swim, dive, and any number of other athletic endeavors. These athletes have been preparing their bodies and honing their craft for years for this very moment. It is exciting to watch them in action!

Hopefully, these athletes will remain injury-free throughout the Olympic games. Unfortunately though someone usually ends up hurt and unable to compete. These injuries can run the gamut from minimal to career-ending. Who can ever forget at the 1996 Summer Olympics when gymnast Kerri Strug, with an inured ankle, performed the winning vault to help the USA Women’s Gymnastics Team take home the gold medal? Such an amazing show of sportsmanship and courage.
