Derek Jeter and that ankle of his can’t seem to stay out of the news. But, the good news this time is that he hasn’t re-injured it or injured anything else, for that matter. It appears he’s back on the field…playing catch.
Yes, you read that correctly. The mighty Jeter is all dressed up, out on the field, playing catch. In all fairness, his doctors haven’t released him to do anything else. I can’t begin to imagine how frustrating this whole ordeal has been for him.
So, why is he in the news again? Well, the boot has come off! The protective walking boot was removed from his left foot last Friday. Is there a light at the end of this really long tunnel?
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. The 13-time All-Star shortstop revealed another CT-scan has to be done before any decisions will be made about resuming other baseball activities. And there are rumors out there that these injuries and his <ahem> age will cause this iconic shortstop to call it quits for good.
So, the Jeter saga continues. Stay tuned…I’m sure I’ll be writing another Jeter post soon.
